Or continue down the page for links to the annual shows (virtual again this year) for Washu-Kai, Friends of Taka Sumi-e and Ikabana International.
For 44 years the art of sumi-e has been exhibited in Balboa Park by sensei Kazuku Reynnolds (Washu) and her students to foster and maintain interest in the simple elegance and exquisite beauty of Japanese painting.
In the year 2000 Washu sensei and some of her students formed Washu-Kai to carry on the tradition and teaching of Japanese brush painting. Although Washu sensei is no longer with us, Wahu-Kai continues. In 2020 we toke our show to the online venue of YouTube. And again in 2021.
